SAK Environmental exhibited at the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Small Business Expo at the Westin in Waltham, MA. This event, held annually and hosted by SAME Boston Post, is an opportunity to connect with business partners and look ahead at upcoming Federal Contracting opportunities, especially in the field of environmental engineering and remediation.
The event featured speakers from the US Army Corps of Engineers, US Coast Guard, and US Air Force who discussed upcoming opportunities for environmental and construction projects to serve military facilities in the Northeast.
Scott Acone, Chief of Military & Environmental at the US Army Corp of Engineers gave an in-depth discussion about the New England region. He also included details in his presentation about the military programs, civil works and Inter-agency Support and current and future contract opportunities.
Commander Will Smith from the U.S. Coast Guard presented background about the U.S. Coast Guard civil engineering projects and shared details about FY13 construction projects. Commander Smiths’ presentation included some intriguing photographs of Hurricane Sandy clean up performed by the U.S. Coast Guard.
Finally, David Wong, from the U.S. Air Force presented civil engineering opportunities available for FY13 at Hanscom Air Force Base.
The annual expo brings together large and small businesses across the New England Region, and offers a unique opportunity to network with contracting agencies and explore ways to work together to offer unique and sustainable solutions to improve our military facilities and the environment.
