A world leader in the biotechnology industry was closing a research and development facility that generated hazardous waste. The facility was located in a mixed-use commercial building and it was necessary for the area to be cleansed and treated in an environmentally responsible manner for the next tenants.
The Environmental Services Provided:
SAK was hired to manage and oversee the decommissioning and decontamination of the facility, document subcontractor work, and provide a third party opinion certified by a Certified Industrial Hygienist. Decontamination consisted of disinfection of biological and chemical contaminants from non-metal surfaces and equipment.
SAK’s scientists prepared a decontamination report for the facility. The report included a summary of facility occupants and operations, hazardous and biological materials used, a summary of decontamination procedures, results of inspections and findings, and conclusions as to reuse of the premises.
