The Environmental Services Provided:
SAK Environmental performed annual inspections of eighteen aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) and one underground storage tank (UST) installed at various sites across Massachusetts. The work included inspection, integrity testing, and repair. The tanks were visually inspected and tested (if needed) by a qualified inspector certified under the American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 653. Evaluation of ASTs included reviewing previous inspection reports and as-built plans to assess prior conditions. Tests included visual examination of accessible tank surfaces and ultrasonic wall thickness determinations of vessels requiring integrity testing using “A” scan technology with emphasis on areas of corrosion and pitting using “B” scan technology.
