New Municipal DPW Facility

The Town of North Andover invested in significant improvements to its Public Works facilities. The $4.4 million project building included a building addition with Class A office/meeting space, construction of a new sand/salt storage building, and light improvements to the garage envelope.


SAK’s management of the contaminated soil “surprise” was carefully planned and executed to keep the project on schedule.


The presence of contaminated urban fill surprised A/E/C team because contaminated subsoil had to be exported to a licensed receiving facility. SAK provided turnkey environmental services on the project that include soil testing, transportation and disposal, and regulatory compliance.  SAK also provided comprehensive hazmat services to support demolition/renovation of existing structures (testing, abatement specifictions, project monitoring).

SAK’s management of the contaminated soil “surprise” was carefully planned and executed to keep the project on schedule.  SAK transported & disposed of approximately 4,300 tons of contaminated soil to four (4) receiving facilities to maximize cost savings to the Owner.
