Sustainable Development

SAK Environmental was selected by Boston Magazine as the Best of Boston 2017 for best sustainable design and construction of geothermal systems.
Our selection was based in part on SAK's work on a closed loop geothermal system at Salem State Universityand our work with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center to help administer their thermal energy rebate program across the state. "We're proud of our work in sustainable geothermal energy and thrilled for the recognition on these two important projects" says Stephen Sakakeeny, Principal at SAK Environmental.
Geothermal energy currently has stiff competition from cheap natural gas prices, but that won't last. SAK is committed to helping clients use geothermal technology, but only if it makes sense for them.
Our commitment started almost 10 years ago by becoming a founding corporate member of the New England Geothermal Professional Association and we've dedicated ourselves to designing the most energy and cost efficient systems as possible. Other notable SAK projects include the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston Architectural College, and Norwood Theatre.
