Since 2016, K.R. Rezendes has retained SAK Environmental LLC (SAK) to provide environmental consulting support services for various linear construction projects including sewer line and drainage upgrades for cities located on the South Shore. SAK prepared site-specific Health and Safety Plan (HASPs), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Dewatering Plans and Soils Management Plants.
The HASP focused on construction safety standards under the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations 29 CFR Parts 1910 and 1926. In addition, health hazards associated with potential chemical exposure during construction activities and the protective measures to minimize worker and environmental exposure are addressed in the HASP.
SAK prepared Soil Management Plans (SMP) per the requirements of Contract Documents and regulatory standards and guidelines. The SMPs describe the general practices for excavated materials, dust control, stockpile management, soil transportation, erosion control, soil monitoring and dewatering management.
Given SAK’s experience, SAK is able to offer these services at competitive lump-sum rates. Generally draft documents are issued within two (2) weeks from Notice to Proceed.
Rezendes has also retained SAK to provide waste characterization services for the offsite disposal of surplus soil. SAK typically requests analyses to cover a wide range of available soil receiving facilities and to eliminate re-sampling efforts. With standard lab turn-around, SAK was able to work with the client, project owner and facilities to remove the soil stockpiles from site within two (2) weeks from date of Notice.
