Environmental Due Dilligence, Regulated Waste Site Cleanup, Regulatory Compliance Services: Retail Gasoline Station Remediation & Divestiture

Gas Station

SAK Environmental assisted multiple owners of retail petroleum outlets with environmental response actions during infrastructure replacement and/or divestiture of their retail gasoline service stations.

Work included removal of existing underground petroleum storage tanks, development of sampling and analysis plans; removal of contamnated soil; design, construction, and opertaion of remediation systems that included separate phase oil recovery and treatment of contaminated groundwater.

SAK completed environmental response actions through Phase V to determine the nature and extent of petroleum contamination from existing and former underground storage tanks.  Releases to soil and groundwater occurred within aquifer protection districts to public and private water supply wells.  Extensive investigations included soil borings, monitoring wells, and groundwater sampling to assess tanks, oil/water separators, hydraulic lifts, floor drains, and septic systems.  Remedial actions included the removal of underground storage tanks, removal of an oil water separators and decommissioning of floor drains, and design, installation and operation of a chemical oxidation treatment system to treat groundwater and soil.

If eligible, work was performed, documented, and invoiced in compliance with State Reimbursment Funding requirements for the client's benefit.

Projects were implemented aggresively to meet client needs for reopening or divestiture of the facility.
